Actor and entertainment promoter Palle Hagmann is an incurable dreamer in 1950s Sweden, who with his dazzling charm and persuasiveness can get anyone to bet on his grandiose plans. No talk of him becoming the biggest in the entertainment world! But his dreams are constantly crushed by that nasty thing called reality, while creditors are breathing down his neck and lies become part of his lifestyle. Palle wants so well and hopes so much, but he lets everyone down along the way. Not least his patient wife and little son, who are forced to realize that his father is not the hero he so desperately wants him to be.

Peter Haber plays the role of a lifetime in WHITE LIES , a warm and tragicomic film about a charming prankster who is simply impossible to hate. For the film's director Mats Arehn (The Man Who Became a Millionaire, Papphammar), the film was a dream come true. He had carried the story within him his entire life. Palle Hagmann was his father.
