Arch-nerd Melvin is cleaning the local gym when he is the victim of a malicious prank by local scoundrels. He flies out a third-floor window and lands in a barrel of radioactive waste.
But instead of melting to death, Melvin absorbs the deadly chemicals and transforms into THE TOXIC AVENGER - a righteous mutant who takes up the fight against his former killers, as well as Tromaville's many villains and corrupt politicians. No roach is safe when Toxie goes on a head-smashing attack.

The evil corporation Apocalypse Inc. discovers the secret behind Toxic Avengers' superhero powers - the so-called tromatrons - and lures him away to Japan, believing he will be reunited with his father. But it's not a happy reunion when his father turns out to be a big villain who pumps him full of anti-tromatrons that nearly kill him.
Meanwhile, Apocalypse Inc. succeeds in taking over Tromaville and reestablishing the rule of evil. Will Toxie be able to regain her superpowers to travel back and give the villains the bloody blow they deserve?

Toxic Avenger learns that his blind girlfriend Claire could have her sight restored through an expensive surgery. To finance the project, he takes a job as a spokesperson for Apocalypse Inc., not realizing that he is serving the return of evil to Tromaville. He doesn't even realize that he has been turned into a yuppie!
But when Claire shows him how he has lost his mind and the havoc he has caused, Toxie also realizes that his new boss is the devil himself. It's time to take up the fight against the forces of evil and massacre as many as possible!
