While serving in Northern Ireland, British soldier Jody is kidnapped by the IRA. While he is held prisoner, an unexpected but close friendship develops between Jody and the terrorist Fergus. When the police raid the hideout, Fergus manages to escape to London and there seeks out Jody's girlfriend, the beautiful hairdresser Dil, with whom he quickly falls in love. Fergus, of course, cannot reveal who he really is, but what is more surprising is what Dil's true self is...
