In December 1941, a column of German tanks is heading towards Moscow. Pilot Nikolai Komlev is one of those tasked with stopping the column, but during the battle he is hit and forced to crash-land behind enemy lines. Injured but still alive, he must make his way home alone through the wintry wasteland. With extreme cold and hunger gnawing at his marrow, his long path is lined with both bloodthirsty wolves and even more dangerous Nazis.
