High up in the mountains of Tibet, there is wildlife that few have seen. Documentary filmmaker Marie Amiguet travels to this rugged region with Vincent Munier, one of the world's leading wildlife photographers, and author Sylvain Tesson. The goal is to see and photograph the snow leopard, one of the world's rarest felines, with their own eyes. It will be both an adventurous and contemplative journey.

Love for nature is something that has permeated the lives of the trio behind SNOW LEOPARD . Photographer Vincent Munier, three-time winner of BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year and Nikon European Ambassador, has been photographing the wildlife around him since he was twelve. Director Marie Amiguet previously served as a photographer on The Valley of the Wolves . She originally earned a bachelor's degree in biology, but her desire to make documentaries about animals and nature quickly drove her down the path she has followed ever since. Author Sylvain Tesson wrote the award-winning wilderness account The Consolations of the Forest: Alone in a Cabin on the Siberian Taiga in the early 1990s, which was adapted into a film under the title In the Forests of Siberia . THE SNOW LEOPARD has attracted a large audience to cinemas in France, so far almost 500,000 visitors!

The music is by Warren Ellis in collaboration with Nick Cave. Ellis has said about The snow leopard that it is "one of the most beautiful films we have ever worked on."
