"THE BEST VIETNAM FILM ALONG WITH PLUTO!" Los Angeles Times
“VERY CAPTIVATING. THE LAST OUTPOST IS TOUGHER THAN ANY WAR MOVIE I’VE SEEN” Boston Globe
Vietnam 1964, a few years before America's massive war machine rolls in with full force. But for the scarred Major Barker, the war is already a nightmare. With only a small squad of young soldiers and a few South Vietnamese at his side, his mission is to defend an outpost in Muc Wa. Not very strategically interesting, but now his superiors have decided so. While Barker's doubts about his own and his country's involvement in the war grow, the Viet Cong attack with furious force.
THE LAST OUTPOST is set in an early stage of the Vietnam War that has rarely been depicted on film. The true story is based on the book "Incident at Muc Wa" by war correspondent Daniel Ford. Oscar-winning Burt Lancaster shines in the lead role and director Ted Post (Clinton blockbusters Magnum Force and Hang Them High) has created authentic battle scenes that taste of blood and mud.
