Scum (Retro Film)

Few other films have caused such a stir in England as SCUM! In 1976, the BBC commissioned director Alan Clarke to make a film about young prisoners. But when they saw the result, they were shocked and banned it. In a fit of rage, Alan decided to re-shoot the film – even more provocative, even more violent – now for cinema! The result this time was an X-rating in England, a total ban in a number of countries and the film being taken to court after the Channel 4 screening!

Ray Winstone (The Departed, Sexy Beast) is Carlin, a new inmate in a juvenile detention center hit hard by violence and sexual abuse. With brutality, Carlin quickly gains the respect of his fellow inmates and rises through the ranks. But the sadistic guards are determined to crush him, by any means necessary. SCUM is now being released for the very first time on DVD in Sweden – uncut in the original version!
