In a house in the archipelago, hairdresser Assar lives in complete peace with his beautiful and innocent daughter Anna-Bella. Suddenly, his wife appears after having been missing for four years. She has been in the big city and tried her hand at prostitution and now decides to turn their bathhouse into a drive-in brothel – with Anna-Bella as the main attraction! The submissive Assar is relegated to a shameful role as a waiter for the lustful summer guests. But he soon begins to make plans for his wife to disappear again – for good!

Jan Halldoff's RÖTMÅNAD was a big eye-catcher in the childhood of the 1970s. The Swedes had never seen anything so twisted before. A quarter of a million people sat in the cinema, curious to see comedian Carl-Gustaf Lindstedt in a dramatic role and to enjoy the beauty of Christina Lindberg. The 19-year-old Gothenburg girl was already our most famous pop star and would soon become just as big in the cinema, both at home and internationally.
