With a budget equivalent to half a billion kronor in today's money, RAGTIME was one of the most expensive films ever made. Howard E. Rollins Jr. was nominated for an Oscar for his leading role, and equally acclaimed was film legend James Cagney (then 81 years old), who made a comeback here after twenty years of silence .
