THE TRUE STORY OF THE LARGEST HUMAN HUNT OF THE CENTURY
"AUTHENTIC AND BELIEVABLE WAR DRAMA. ROD STEIGER PLAYS MUSSOLINI SO SKILLFULLY THAT HE COMES ALIVE BEFORE OUR EYES" DVD Review
Italy, spring 1945. The Allies march into the country and the German troops retreat. In the north, the partisans fight against the last remnants of the fascist troops and finally even Mussolini realizes that the war is lost. The Germans want to rescue him from the country, but the Allies and the partisans do everything they can to find him first. This is the beginning of what has been called the greatest manhunt of the century...
Oscar-winning legends Rod Steiger and Henry Fonda and western icon Franco Nero shine in this powerful war thriller filmed on location. Another Oscar winner, Ennio Morricone, is responsible for the music. In Italy, cinemas showing the film were the target of several bombings by the neo-fascist terrorist group Ordine Nero.
