Young Martin is not like other young people. Martin believes he is an 84-year-old vampire who needs to drink blood to survive! As more and more women in Pittsburgh fall victim to his bloodlust, Martin's older cousin begins to suspect something is wrong. He becomes increasingly convinced that Martin is actually a vampire. But is he really? Or is Martin actually a deeply disturbed young man with a dangerous sexual obsession, as deadly as his victims?

Martin is a somewhat forgotten film on George A. Romero's CV, but highly appreciated by horror fans. It was also Romero's personal favorite of all his films. Martin is a horror film that bites much deeper than other films in the genre and asks questions about identity, exclusion, mental illness and violence against women. The film marked Romero's first collaboration with make-up genius Tom Savini (Friday the 13th, Maniac, The Burning) who also has a role in the film. Which also applies to Romero.
