"A BREAKTHROUGH FOR THE COMIC GENIUS LONG SUSPECTED IN GÖSTA EKMAN" Dagens Nyheter
GOLDEN BAG AWARD Best Actor (Gösta Ekman)
When sausage director Hugo Alighieri dies, his son Dante inherits 17 million SEK. But only on one condition! Within two weeks he must have quit smoking, otherwise all the hard-earned money will end up with Dante's insidious uncle Knut-Birger. Heavy smoker Dante suffers all the torments of hell while Knut-Birger exposes him to increasingly worse temptations. But the sum of the vices remains constant. So why not go from being a chain smoker to becoming a chain cuckoo..?
Gösta Ekman, Grynet Molvig and Carl-Gustaf & Pierre Lindstedt bring laughter to this festive travesty of Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy. Tage Danielsson has said that he made the film (based on his own 1968 novel) to prevent him from starting to smoke again. After making an entire film about smoking, it would be extremely embarrassing to go back to the stink sticks.
BONUS MATERIAL * ALIGHIERIS FÖRENDADE KORVAR. Three commercials about the fake brand * SWEDISH WORDS IN PICTURES AND TALKS. Hour-long documentary by Ronny Svensson and Markus Strömqvist where Gösta Ekman, Grynet Molvig and several others are interviewed * 24-PAGE BOOKLET about Svenska Ord's films * IMAGE GALLERY * ORIGINAL TRAILERS * MORE SWEDISH WORD TRAILERS
