Early one Christmas morning, a man walks into a post office in Stockholm. In an ice-cold and professional manner, the coffers of 400,000 SEK are emptied. Jarnebring and Johansson from the detective unit are quickly on the scene, but during the wild chase the robber manages to escape. Shortly afterwards, two mysterious murders occur that may be connected to the robbery. The two detectives are convinced that the robbery hides something bigger with ramifications all the way up to the top of society. But just as they are close to a solution, witnesses begin to have doubts, the alibi begins to crack and evidence begins to disappear. What is really happening?

THE MAN FROM MALLORCA is based on Leif GW Persson's debut novel "The Pig Party" and has clear parallels with the great political scandal of the 1970s, often called "The Brothel Affair" or "The Geijer Affair". Sven Wollter received a Guldbagge for Best Actor and people flocked to the cinemas. A total of 460,000 cinemagoers saw the film.
