Her name is Margareta, but she goes by the name “Mackan”. She is 14 years old, but looks like 16, and has just moved into the small town. A rather sad place. But thank goodness Kenneth is here. He is 18, dangerously handsome and has the coolest car in town, and in it “Mackan” is moved to a better position than what the hot dog stand moped driver can offer. But after the awkward sexual debut, she realizes that Kenneth is not the guy of her dreams. Dangerously handsome, sure… but above all, he is just dangerous!

During the latter part of the 1970s, the 50s and early 60s experienced a renaissance in the Western world. In Sweden, The Boppers were spinning on the record labels and in the cinema we went to see Sven Klang's quintet, Hempa's bar, Bluff Stop and of course the biggest blue-yellow success of its kind – Birgitta Svensson's MACKAN. The title role was praised by newcomer Maria Andersson, who two years later shared the poster space with Gösta Ekman in En kärleks sommar.
