THE SEQUEL TO ONE OF THE BEST WAR FILMS OF ALL TIME. FROM THE DIRECTOR OF THE WILD GEES.
The year is 1944. The Nazis are retreating after the winter's hardships on the Western Front. The dream of world domination has been shattered. Among the members of a secret group of top German officers, plans are being forged to liquidate Hitler, after which peace negotiations are to begin. The scarred Sergeant Steiner is ordered to get through the Allied lines with his soldiers to convey the plans. His most dangerous mission ever!
This is the explosive sequel to Iron Cross, again produced by Wolf C. Hartwig and with Andrew V. McLaglen (The Wild Geese) as the new director. In the star-studded cast we meet seven-time Oscar nominee Richard Burton, used to war films such as The Eagle's Nest and the aforementioned The Wild Geese, Rod Steiger (Oscar for In the Heat of the Night), Robert Mitchum (Cape Fear), Curd Jürgens (the Bond villain in The Spy Who Loved Me), Helmut Griem (Cabaret) and Christoph Waltz (Oscar for Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained) in a small role, his film debut.
