THE FILM BASED ON ULF LUNDELL'S RECORD-SELLING DEBUT NOVEL, NOW FINALLY ON BLU-RAY!
When Ulf Lundell's novel JACK was released in April 1976, it caused a rush to bookstores like no other. Hailed as "the great generational novel of the 70s", it became a talking point that EVERYONE should read, and the circulation quickly increased from the original 2,000 copies to an incredible 200,000 copies. The film adaptation, with a script by Lundell and director Jan Halldoff, came out the following year and was an even greater success.
Göran Stangertz plays Jack Råstedt who, with his pals Bart, Harald, Jonny and Linnéa, parties, drinks, fucks and smokes weed like there was no tomorrow. But dawn is coming. Whether they want it or not. Dark and grim for some, hopeful for others.
It is a great honor for Studio S to release this film by the author and our country's foremost rock musician, Ulf Lundell. For the very first time, it is being released on Blu-ray, and in a newly digitally restored condition with a quality befitting one of the best Swedish films of the 70s.
