Some fairy tales are not for children...

Lucile Hadzihalilovic made a splash ten years ago when her mysterious schoolgirl drama Innocence won Best Film at the Stockholm Film Festival. This thematic sequel also depicts the dark fantasy world of childhood, albeit from the perspective of a ten-year-old boy, and was awarded Best Cinematography at the 2015 festival.

Nicolas and his mother find themselves on an island inhabited only by women and young boys. When Nicolas dives into the sea one day, he thinks he sees a boy at the bottom. His mother hushes up his observation, but the feeling that something is terribly wrong with the island has taken root in Nicolas. What happens to the young boys who are transferred to the island's hospital? What will happen when he himself is transferred there?
