Against the wishes of his strict father, he goes to the worn-out cinema the next day too – even though the train journey there is many, many miles long. He has no money, but when the cinema operator smells the seductive aroma from the lunch box that Samay's mother prepared, he suggests a swap. Food for film! This is the beginning of a warm friendship between Samay, the operator and the magic of the cinema screen that leads the poor boy to sketch out grand – but also very dangerous – plans...
