A pioneer of the subgenre of “body horror,” young David Cronenberg was both loved and hated for bizarre films like Rabid, Scanners, and The Fly. As he grew older, he turned his shoulders and found himself in the limelight with A History of Violence and was awarded the prestigious job of president of the Cannes jury in 1999. What is less well known is that Cronenberg is a big fan of racing cars, having driven many a roaring race car himself, which resulted in his pet project FAST COMPANY in 1979.

William Smith (the 70s' favorite villain "Falconetti" in The Rich and the Poor), John Saxon (Enter the Dragon) and sexy Claudia Jennings (Playboy Playmate of the Year 1970) top the cast in this car raffle that smells of engine oil and burnt rubber. At the center is dragster star Lonnie who loves fast cars. But his shady sponsor only likes fast bucks. When Lonnie refuses to compete in "fixed" races, all hell breaks loose...
