The Adventures of a Young Moomin

When Moomintroll is bedridden after a wasp sting, Moominpappa wants to cheer him up with stories of his adventurous youth. Moominpappa tells about his childhood when he was misunderstood, his escape from an orphanage and the historic meeting with the inventor Fredriksson. He reveals his experiences of wild storms during his time on the boat Haffsårkestern and about all the adventures in the Sovereign Kingdom. It also tells how Moominpappa founded a colony, befriended a ghost and how he rescued Moomintroll from the sea on a stormy night. And the rest, as we say, is history.

From the same studio that gave us Troll winter in Moominvalley , invites The Adventures of a Young Moomin on an animated adventure based on Tove Jansson's classic and the Polish television series she herself was involved in producing in the 70s. The film material has been meticulously restored and the film's director, Ira Carpelan, has created a completely new feature film with a new script, new editing, newly written dialogues and new voices based on the classic puppet animation.

This is a kind-hearted and straightforward animated film for the whole family with a fantastic story from the fairytale Moominvalley that so many know and love. The adventures that Moominpappa recounts for his sick son will surely awaken longing in many hearts.
