Organized crime is growing explosively in Europe and threatens to break down the social structure. As part of the fight against this scourge, a new special force is established within Europol, the EU's own police organization. Detective Inspector Ola Sellberg is appointed as head and of course Johan Falk is a natural member of the group. This is the beginning of a long series of nightmarish events with violence, betrayal and death at the center as an entire continent is being stolen.

THE THIRD WAVE is the last of three independent films about Johan Falk that have caused a sensation in Swedish action. The worn-out term “Good, for being Swedish” was conspicuous by its absence among critics and 370,000 cinemagoers saw the film. After the films, Johan Falk has also starred in seventeen television films and in novel form.
