When German troops invade Norway in 1940, the situation for the Jewish families changes dramatically. Soon it is decided that their passports will be stamped with a capital J and a little later all Jewish men are arrested and sent to newly established prison camps within the country. On November 26, 1942, the climax is reached when hundreds of Jews – men and women, old and young, healthy and sick – are brutally awakened in the middle of the night to be transported to the port of Oslo. Here the cargo ship S/S Donau awaits them. Destination: Auschwitz.

This is the true and heartbreaking story of the Braude family – the promising boxer Charles who has just met the woman of his life, his brothers Isak and Harry and his parents Sara and Benzel. The main role is played by Jakob Oftebro, perhaps Norway's most popular actor, best known in Sweden for the title roles in both the TV series Stenbeck and Jan Guillou's agent in the TV series Hamilton.
