Alan McGee is the man who, after a somewhat tough upbringing in Glasgow, found his calling and his environment in London where he founded Creation Records, the now legendary record label that released The Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine and not least Oasis. Here we follow McGee through days and nights filled with music, joy, madness, a generous intake of alcohol and drugs, during incredible successes and huge crashes. The pace is frenetic, the stories are many and the heart is big in the film about the man behind the bands that set the tone for the lives of so many.
This exuberant biopic, based on McGee's best-selling autobiography, boasts a script by Irvine Welsh, the author of the 90s' best-selling novel Trainspotting . In the lead role we see Ewan Bremner, Spud in the film adaptation of the same. Nick Moran, who made his breakthrough in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrells , is directing. The soundtrack is like the best mixtape you can imagine, with Oasis, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, The Boo Radleys, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Sex Pistols, David Bowie, D-Ream, Dido, and others.
With a fantastic cast:
Ewen BREMNER (TRAINSPOTTING)
Jason FLEMYNG (LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS)
Thomas TURGOOSE (THIS IS ENGLAND)
Suki WATERHOUSE(ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS)
Jason ISAACS (HARRY POTTER)
Etc.
