Black Sunday

It is D-Day for the year’s biggest game at the Orange Bowl Stadium in Miami. But it is also D-Day for the terrorist group Black September. By flying an explosives-laden airship over the stadium, they plan to turn it into a blazing inferno, unless the FBI and counterterrorism operative Kabakov can stop them. The lives of the US President and 80,000 spectators hang in the balance…

Robert Shaw (Jaws) plays Kabakov in this acclaimed blockbuster thriller based on the bestselling novel by Thomas Harris, author of The Silence of the Lambs. Behind the camera were two legends: director John Frankenheimer (French Connection II, Ronin) and producer Robert Evans (The Godfather, Chinatown). For its Swedish cinema release, the censors made no fewer than eight cuts totalling two and a half minutes. In Germany and Japan, it was banned outright. This edition is, of course, uncut.
