A party night ends with the young woman Mila being raped in a garbage room. Or is it? Alexandre, the guy who invited her to the party, says they just had sex. No big deal. The legal process that follows becomes a media circus that no one in the families involved can escape. Who is telling the truth?
In his latest film, director Yvan Attal addresses several of the burning issues of our time. The issue of sexual consent and how complicated it can be when two people have completely different views on the same sequence of events. The script he wrote with Yaël Langmann is based on the multiple award-winning book by Karine Tuil. The story also tackles questions of class and privilege, as well as the role of the media in this type of emotionally charged legal case where words stand against words. The multifaceted story is supported by a strong ensemble with debutants Suzanne Jouannet in the role of Mila and Ben Attal as Alexandre. The people around the drama's two main characters are played by Charlotte Gainsbourg ( Lux Aeterna , Charlotte Forever ), Pierre Arditi ( Life Blooms ), Mathieu Kassovitz ( False Identity ), Benjamin Lavernhe ( Exquisite , The Wedding Speech ) and Audrey Dana ( Doctor Knock ).
