New York, 1955. Private eye Harry Angel is hired by the mysterious Louis Cyphre to track down the missing singer Johnny Favorite. The mission seems simple, but everyone who knows anything is brutally murdered. The few clues lead him to the smoky jazz clubs and untamed swamps of New Orleans, where he finds himself drawn into a world of sex, murder, voodoo and evil sudden death.

ANGEL HEART is a rare blend of film noir, horror and sex written and directed by the legendary Alan Parker (Midnight Express, Mississippi Burning). The film caused a stir in the US due to the strong sex scene between Mickey Rourke and Lisa Bonet, which the film company was forced to cut to avoid an X-rating. When the film is now released for the first time on Blu-ray in Sweden, it is in the original version.
