THE MOVIE THAT WAS BANNED IN THE USA!
HUGE SUCCESS IN SWEDEN WITH 530,000 CINEMA VISITORS!
When Private Adamsson sees an officer being mugged by a horde of cowardly bastards in the public park, he does the only right thing and goes into battle. But like the unfortunate bird he was born to be, Adamsson is innocently accused of the assault and is forced to flee from the police. With rebellious novel manuscripts in his backpack, the lawless young gentleman then wanders via Gothenburg's harbor district to the logging camps in the north, driven by the desire to "become something". Many are after him along the way, not least women of all kinds. Because this is a charming bastard too!
ADAMSSON IN SWEDEN is based on Olle Länsberg's gigantic bestseller from 1964, which is largely autobiographical. The title role is played by Hans Ernback from the Sjöwall/Wahlöö hit Roseanna and the most significant of the women in the film is played by Christina Schollin, our brightest star at the time in blockbusters such as Änglar, finns dom?, Bröllopsbesvär and Käre John (also based on a novel by Länsberg). The film was banned in the USA as pornographic, which today appears laughable.
